Goodbyes are hard but necessary, for every stage in one's life, people can't always follow. People don't always want to follow. One can't stay the same either, imagine how awfully boring that would be. This trip was the "hello" to Valerie's university era. On my end, it was "farewell", but "see you in October" kind of thing.

When we went to a temple, I pulled a fortune teller (not really sure what it's called). It costed 200 yen and predicted me a "小吉", which means small luck. I hope that means I will be happier this year. We must've ate more than five 鯛焼き in this trip because we were so close to the food stand. Soy cream was my favourite. I probably had about four. The stand itself was of glass window where they displayed all the ready-made Taiyaki, perfectly lined up across the horizontally stretched glass. Looked like some kind of factory of fishes for cats. I spotted it first in the corner of a cross section. The streets in Tokyo always surprised me with its liveliness without any of the messiness. Everyone seems to belong.

I learned that in cafes, you should place a folded napkin (a square one) underneath the glass cup of an ice drink so that the condensed water drops won't seep through to the table. It's cleaner that way. I really like the quietness in cafes.

The Ghibli Studio Museums held my hand through memory lanes. We had prepared for the animations directed by Hayao Miyazaki leading up to this visit. Sat around the televisions many nights to revisit ourselves into the worlds of Totoro, Howard's Castle, Spirited Away, and even the really old ones like Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind and Castle In the Sky. I didn't know they are older than me. But then, I am only 17, not even an adult yet.
