I've already lost count of the days at home where nothing happens. Wake up at 12pm, eat breakfast for lunch, watch something online, eat dinner, sleep at 3am. Not the most productive way to spend a day at all, I agree. It did clear up the grey mood of my mind, a little, with a short trip down to Yilan. Quieter, fresher, lighter. I remembered my love for the exploration of a city. We pasted by the never-ending green fields and the elegantly aged brick houses. My favourite, however, was the small corner dessert shop pasted with postcards and furniture from the late 1990s. The entire space shouts the feeling of nostalgia. Valerie and I both ordered a small porridge with matcha ice cream, that is paired along with red bean paste, mochi and matcha jelly. If it was not for the late lunch, I would've gone for another set. It is always pleasant to go back to our roots now and then, for nature has much more to be loved and appreciated. You never know what to expect from a family trip.
