Nature is a playful child that continuously tests you until one of you break apart.

We drove to lake Kawagucihko under the hazy sky on January 25th of 2020. From Chureito Pagoda to the Oishi Park, Mt Fuji never revealed itself to us. The grand figure hid behind a thick curtain of grey mist where we could only admire its beauty from all the small souvenirs. The lake itself, on the other hand, had its own mystery atmosphere with the reflection of the sky. I enjoyed walking along its path, despite the coldness.

The second day was another different game. We woke up to thick snows delicately placed on the roof of every house. The town was smeared with this lack of colour; the view was a sight of lack of Mt Fuji. Up the Panoramic Ropeway, I bought freshly baked mochi in hopes of warming ourselves in the midst of the freezing wind blowing us into ice cubes. In the end, alll was well for the Fujiyama cookies and cheesecakes savored our flavours and sweetened the trip. It goes without saying, earl grey and matcha were the best ones.
