Nothing more could be asked from a road trip 30 minutes from the house.

Somehow, the sarcasm is unintended. It is hard to believe that we live in a time like this, it is so deeply imprinted in the world's history that it feels surreal. Yet, whilst many feel like we are living in a tornado with our lives and the world's economy in a swirl, I feel something different. I feel like I am living in a translucent bubble, safe and sound.

Tamsui Old Street were a little scarcer than it would have been on a national holiday. I loved it more this way. The sky bright blue, water calm, the sunlight gleamed of joy. When we sat by the window and just stared outside, it felt like nothing is happening. A cup of earl grey tea with a creamy cheese cake by the riverside view made my thoughts fill with laughter and compassion. A girl's brunch, I called it.

We took a walk around the harbor to grasp every moment of the sunset view. The day felt so perfect it seemed unreal.
