To TES class of 2020,
Hello and goodbye.
Somehow, at the day I have waited and longed for my entire high school life, my heart could not have been calmer. For the past years, I pictured this moment to be full of relief and happiness. All I felt were bittersweet.
Maybe it's because I am surrounded by everyone I have grown to love, trust and respect. This was no easy journey filled with joy and pride. On the contrary, it was with drama, immaturity and the unforgettable "squad" culture that lingers throughout every high school. But we all have to start somewhere. I started as a little 14 years old girl who thought she had known all beauty and ugly of the society. She was naive, inexperienced and had little of idea what was heading her way. Sometimes, I miss her sweet large smiles that squints her eyes into thin lines. But she had to grow, we all have to change. No events goes unnoticed in ones teenage years. I'm glad to have found what I have now.
Taipei European School, thank you for the past years of my highest and lowest points. I will miss everyone and treasure all little moments of laughter, compassion and closeness. It's bittersweet to finally graduate high school and go to a university where I can focus on art, but uncertain about each of our paths scattered around the world. Goodbye.
Best regards,
Sasha Sha Huang
